The Turku Campus and Science Park area offers a unique hub for knowledge-intensive business comprising all the central campuses of the three universities with as many as 35,000 students, over 300 organizations employing 17,500 people, and the growth and development services of the Turku Science Park Ltd all exceptionally close to each other and within walking distance from the Turku city centre.
Offering a lucrative platform for innovation and experimentation as well as the most prominent cluster of office complexes in town, the Campus and Science Park area has become the number one choice for various companies and development organizations in the fields of biotechnology and ICT, for instance. In fact, Turku, with around half of Finland’s medical industry and diagnostics companies, is the leading centre of biotechnology in Finland.
The immediate vicinity of the city centre, the Kupittaa railway station and the Helsinki highway puts the Campus and Science Park area in an outstanding position in terms of location. The excellent logistic accessibility will be further improved by the one hour fast rail connection linking Campus and Science Park to the commuter belt of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Upgrading the local traffic connections is also on the agenda, with a special focus on the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and intelligent transport development.
